- A little bit about Peter Thomas photography -

I’ve had a keen interest in photography since my childhood. Photography remained a big part of what I did and what inspired me.

When I was asked by friends to shoot their wedding in Edinburgh I jumped at the chance. I enjoyed myself so much that this became the starting point of my career.

It’s hard to believe, but that first wedding was way back in 2005! After that first wedding, things started to snowball. I got asked by friends to do weddings, and then friends of friends. Word soon got around! After a while I decided to concentrate on wedding photography full time. In the last few years I’ve expanded into portrait (people & pets) and commercial photography. I opened our Belfast studio in 2011 and have since welcomed many families through the door.

Our first wedding fayre and 41 weddings booked. I also joined the PPANI in 2008.
71 weddings (way too many - I now do a way more sensible number and love each one!)

Moved from Carrickfergus and opened our Belfast based studio.
Won the PPANI Portrait Photographer of the Year. Wohoo!

Won the 2013 Wedding Album and Reportage Photographer of the year. Awards are lovely but I take more pride in delivering lasting memories and a great service.
Stacey joined the team part-time

Expanded the studio space to two floors, the wonderful Tara joined the team.
Joined the Xperience Group - partnering with over 80 studios across the UK

Stacey won Pet Photographer of the Year, Newborn photographer of the Year. Peter won Contemporary Wedding Photographer of the Year
Launched the original Little White Box in Northern Ireland. Still loved by families across the province.

Refitted our downstairs to create a dedicated viewing space and office
The studio won Pet photographer of the year and Family photographer of the Year

Ivan and Fiona both joined the team part-time. Ivan looks after telephone sales and Fiona looks after orders
Peter won 2019 Pet Photographer of the year and Portrait photographer of the year

We purchased our building. Easy to write, was hard to achieve!

Stacey moved on to pastures anew and Danielle joined the team as photographer and editor
Coronovirus forced the studio to close temporarily due to restrictions

The studio remained closed Jan - April due to Covid19 - we refreshed our branding
We updated the studio with air-conditioning and solar panels

After two nightmare Covid years, 2022 was our busiest ever year with almost 2000 photoshoots, taking 350,000 photographs!

Peter

Drinks way too much coffee, husband to the lovely Arlene, dad to Eva and Ben - unhealthy obsessions with Formula One, VW Camper Vans and Skoda Octavias (no longer has one but still love them!). Takes photographs and loves it. Peter specialises in weddings and families.

Tara

Tara looks after all our sales and marketing. She shows customers their photographs, handles our social media and partnerships with various companies and charities.

Danielle

Danielle specialises in Pet and newborn photography. She is a dog lover - living with a whole zoo of animals. She also helps with managing portraiture edits and delivering a great service to our customers.

Fiona

Fiona looks after customer's orders. Everything from digital to framed images - Fiona is your woman! She loves anything to do with photography, good TV and fine wine!
